About the Role

Responsibilities

From prototyping new ideas to optimising the technology, you will take on a variety of roles and gain a broad range of experience as an engineering intern at Gibson Robotics. As we prepare to scale our manufacturing processes and mature our technology for market, you will be asked to undertake challenges from industry research to design, prototyping and testing, as you work both independently and as part of a team to bring together work from a range of engineering disciplines and integrate them. We are looking for someone who is flexible and adaptable in their role and keen to learn on the job soaking up new expertise and implementing it in real time.

Examples of electronic engineering tasks include:

  • Designing circuit boards.
  • Testing and optimisation.
  • Developing, prototyping, and testing circuits in a space constrained environment.
  • Inquisitive and a desire for continued self-improvement and development of new skills.

Requirements

  • Must be penultimate or ultimate year student or recent university graduate of an engineering subject.
  • Be able to travel to our workshop in Glasgow for the duration of the internship.
  • Desire and the ability to learn quickly.
  • Capable of working independently with good job autonomy.
  • Initiative, self-discipline, and drive.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A love for working as part of a team.
  • Ability to continually prioritise and multi-task in a dynamic, creative, fast paced environment.
  • Experience with basic digital circuit design.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
  • Previous experience working within a start up.
  • Established knowledge of the operation and manufacture of UAS or small aircraft.
  • Soldering experience.
  • Embedded systems development experience.
