We’re excited to share some big news from the Gibson Robotics team: Dr Mick O’Connor has joined us as our new Commercial Director.

As we get ready to launch Red Kite, our fixed-wing counter-UAS platform capable of autonomously intercepting and capturing aerial threats with a net, Mick’s arrival marks a major step forward for the business.

Mick brings a unique mix of strategic vision, deep engineering knowledge, and proven commercial leadership across a wide range of sectors; including aerospace, space, defence, financial services, and technology ventures. He’s a Chartered Engineer and Chartered Director, best known for founding HAELO, a RegTech scale-up that’s transforming regulatory compliance with AI-driven horizon scanning, and for his influential leadership in the UK space sector through Fire Arrow.

In his new role, Mick will focus on:

• Leading our go-to-market and commercial strategy
• Driving customer revenue and partnerships
• Positioning Gibson Robotics as a leader in next-generation counter UAS autonomy
• Scaling operations with customers at the core
• Forging trusted relationships across government, defence, and industry
